NEW BOOK REVEALS THE HIDDEN PATTERN OF HISTORY
Author Tom Payne makes the convincing argument that history is not random, but follows a design in his new book The Template of Time: Our Destiny Decoded. A theory regarding the stock market initially set Payne on the path to exploring the existence of a template upon which history unfolds. While reading about how the stock market followed 70 year time cycles, Payne began to wonder if history itself may not also follow an
identifiable model.
Following years of research he discovered a pattern of historical events that emerged in the beginnings of written history and continued until the present day. Moreover, based on the fact that these patterns were consistent and could be followed by using simple math, Payne conjectured that this template could be used to forecast major historical events in the future. The Template of Time uses multiples of 70 years – allowing for a standard deviation of 1-2 years – to arrive at significant milestones in history. The years that are calculated correspond with the start of a historical process or the birth of a major figure in history, this process or person being moved in an important new direction, and finally the culmination of this process or person’s objective. For example, using Payne’s theory, the years 1774-1806-1810 and 1984-2016-2020 are important to the template. They unfold as follows: 1774 – Louis XVI, ascends the throne; his incompetent rule is an initiator of the French Revolution. 1804 – Napoleon crowns himself emperor in front of the pope and in 1806 the Holy Roman Empire is disbanded after over 1,000 years of existence. 1810 – Napoleon’s empire covers all of continental Europe with the exceptions of Russia, Portugal, Sweden, Finland and a few Balkan states. This redirection of the Roman Empire towards a secular, multi-ethnic confederacy of nations will achieve its culmination on the next set of dates: 1986 – The Single Europe Act is adopted. The European Union is a direct result. 2016 – The EU will move in a new direction around this year, possibly towards a more centralized state, and this new direction will culminate around 2020.
“Taking these various equations into account, a larger pattern emerges,” Payne adds, “showing that history conforms to a grid that is 500 years in length. That it does so four times in a row rules out the possibility of chance and coincidence.” Though a riveting read, The Template of Time lays out some profound ideas and forecasts such as:
